AKA: A Day In The Life Of…
It was 4 years ago today I first landed in Atlanta, at that point I had no idea how long I’d be staying, might have been a week, maybe a month… In the end it was 3 months, and after a month back in Scotland tying up loose ends, I went back for, what appears to be, good. Of course, if you met me you’d never know I’ve only been here 1431 days, my accent has all but been eradicated except for when I talk to my family on the phone (much to Robyn’s chagrin) and that for 2½ years I was one of the countries public emeries, an illegal alien… I joke that I floated in to Miami on a basketball but yeah, I’ve only been an official resident since June 2006…
Anyways, for some reason that sounded good way back when, I decided that on January 24th, to mark this auspicious date in my life, I’d document that day in my life, sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s boring, sometimes it’s indifferent, funny fact, this would be the first “day in the life” I’ve done that I’ve actually worked…
You can catch up on 2005, 2006 and 2007 if you want.
Robyn had to get up early, but this is near enough my usual time to wake up…
I hate how bald I’m becoming, every time I catch a glimpse it scares the shit out of me.
The obligatory brushing teeth picture, just like 2005 and 2006.
Waiting on his food…
A bowl of Corn Flakes and SportsCenter. The Bobcats/Mavericks highlights were on, Charlotte lost…
Queuing up some weekend movie watching, Oscar themed more or less…
This is busy rush hour traffic… Seriously.
Foggy morning in uptown Charlotte.
First of many, I have a bottomless cup from Breugger’s and I’m abusing it. It’s full of French Toast flavour, yes French Toast, it’s awesome!
My expansive coffe cup collection, all get used on a daily basis.
A mid-morning snack/lunch, it was too early in fact, I was paying for it later on…
The Tony Kornheiser Show podcast, A good way to pass 90 or so minutes every day… Informative and funny, give your boy some dap!
Our hosted clients mail server went down today, so I was charged with fixing it, I’m on hold with the hosting company data center
This had NOTHING else inside it, no padding, no bubbles, nadda, just a tiny box in an oversized box
Cup 5 or 6, I forget…
My desk just as I’m shutting down for the day, it might look like a mess, but it’s a very organised mess…
Almost home…
Our front door, it’s easy to recognise as we have a Georgia flag outside. There is Tennessee Vols and South Carolina Gamecocks (the only teams to beat Georgia this year, coincidence?) flags a few doors down, it’s like SEC alley… It looks like a package awaits.
Another of the bald brotherhood, this time Michael Wilbon on Pardon The Interruption, you should give him some dap too!
What would a day be without a picture of the kitties?
Robyn brought some leftover pizza home from work, saves any decisions about what to have for dinner
Sally with last night Mythbusters on TV, the one where they made a lead balloon float! It was awesome!
And shortly after this I fell asleep, I’m now officially old…
And that they say is that… Unspectacular, but it’s pretty much my routine Monday to Friday. It’s probably why I’ve not been blogging as much, which is kinda untrue, I’ve just been doing different kinds of things. As my lifestream shows, I’m actually kind of busy doing other things most days, just not blogging the conventional way, microblogging on Twitter, Facebook and the likes…
