A sad and shocking news item about a 6 to 8 week old puppy that suffered brain damage after being used as a football by a gang of youths. How can people do things like this? It’s totally beyond comprehension. [via]

It’s times like these I love WordPress and it’s nifty built-in comment moderation. Some asshole has tried to comment spam each and everyone of my posts over the last few days and it’s caught them all no problem, a few quick clicks and the comments disappear into the ether. Sweeeeeet… I dont want anything to do with your tramadol online texas hold ’em casino crap thankyouverymuchly.

Firefox 1.0 PR Changes
These are some of the changes I’ve spotted in the few hours I’ve been using it:
Live Bookmarks
A little RSS icon appears at the bottom right hand of the browser when RSS feeds are available, this allows you to save them as bookmarks, a folder of the site and individual entries as individual bookmarks. A nice idea, but I still prefer the RSS reader extension…
Popup Blocker
This notifier has moved from bottom left to bottom right, a banner also appears on the page.
A much better way of letting you know popups were blocked and if you want to unblock them.
Secure Sites
The address bar now turns yellow and the padlock icon appears on the right of it as opposed to the old bottom left of browser (where everything appeared)
I’m sure there is more I’m missing, but this is just initial thoughts.

Catching Up
Seeing as I’ve been a post whore today, I may as well do my weekend catch up tonight as opposed to some point in the future as yet undetermined.
Well, Friday evening was another trip to Turner Field, would my 100% record remain intact? Well, yeah, the Braves beat Montreal Expos 4-3 to move me up to 4-0 (1.000) with 2 wins over the Florida Marlins and 1 over the San Francisco Giants and Montreal Expos.
Anyways, it was an enjoyable evening at the ballpark, Robyn was able to score free tickets from her new job but Phil and Erika werent able to make it so she invited her friend Charles and his cousin Victor, and we had a fun time.
On Saturday, Phil, Erika, Robyn and myself went around Lake Lanier looking at houses ranging from the fantastic to the dilapidated… We came across one really fantastic one by accident (we were looking for another in the completely wrong area) so we went back for a closer look on Sunday, then Phil and me had our heads shaved with help from Erika and Robyn.

A Step Toward Universal Computing
A step toward universal computing. “A Silicon Valley startup claims to have cracked one of most elusive goals of the software industry: a near-universal emulator that allows software developed for one platform to run on any other, with almost no performance hit.” Interesting… Veeeeeeeery interesting.
