These sites have been popping up quickly… First there was Sorry Everybody, then We’re Not Sorry and now to cap it off we have Apologies Accepted… It’s like some kind of weird cult.

The House is Now a Home…
We’ve been in our new house two weeks and in those two weeks we’ve managed to get a lot done. As you can imagine, for the first week or so the house looked like a bombsite, half empty boxes lay wherever there was space (usually in the still currently empty dining room) but now everything is getting closer to our vision of what a home should be…
The first to get set up was the kitchen, Kim, a friend, set that up for us while we were still unpacking the second U-Haul load of boxes and assorted knick-knacks. Then it was our bedrooms followed by the sun room/lounge, though originally it was all set up in what is now the family room/pool room/bar. The family room/pool room/bar was next, even though certain members of the household thought it should have been first as it was a priority… Slowly the garage became emptier and the office and library started to take shape.
So it’s time to show off a few choice pictures of the house, even if they don’t do the place justice…
All that’s left is the dining room and little touches here and there, it’s all becoming very homely, we love it…

Saving Private Ryan
ABC affiliates in at least eight states will not televise the network’s broadcast of the World War II film “Saving Private Ryan” because they fear repercussions from U.S. regulators. One of those affiliates are WSB-TV in Atlanta, they asked if they could show it after 10pm and to have the option to edit some of the scenes, ABC turned them down…

RIP Winamp
“The last members of the original Winamp team have said goodbye to AOL and the door has all but shut on the Nullsoft era.” Shame, Winamp 2.x kicked all kinds of ass, then they lost direction with Winamp 3.

Fuck the South
“Fuck the South. Fuck ’em. We should have let them go when they wanted to leave. But no, we had to kill half a million people so they’d stay part of our special Union.” One of the “Arrogant Northeast Liberal Elite” isn’t happy at all…

The United States of Canada
Canadian immigration officials said the number of US citizens visiting their website went up six-fold the day after the US election. Now, that’s just being a bit melodramatic isn’t it? Everyone knows you should just get the borders changed…

Moving House and Electionarama 2004
So what’s been going on since last week you ask?
Well, the Boston Red Sox won the World Series with a 4-0 sweep of St. Louis… Didn’t see that one happening when they were 3-0 down to the Yankees in the ALCS. Good to see the curse finally put to bed.
We moved house last Thursday and spent most of the time from then until now unpacking and setting stuff up. It went fairly smoothly, apart from me close to collapsing with exhaustion midway through. We’re now about ½mile from Lake Lanier, and in a much, much, much bigger house than we had in Marietta, I’ll post some pics once everything is set up.
The New England Patriots finally lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-34 ending their winning streak at 21.
Then there was this little event yesterday, some “election” thing apparently.
Now, we were watching the results intently, flipping between CNN and FOXNews to see how different their predictions would be… And by all accounts, the country is heading down the crapper, but it’s all still up in the air. As if the Electionarama of four years ago wasn’t enough drama, but at least the TV networks havent declared a definate winner yet as several states are still undecided (though Fox gives Ohio to Bush).
Bah… This Electoral College system just isn’t working anymore. When will they learn?
