The Secret History Of Band Aid. Just what did happen to Band Aid 3 to 19? All is finally explained. The appeal of “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” was potent, but limited pretty much to December. There were eleven other months of the year in which famine could strike. And so was born “Tan The World (Let Them Know It’s Summer Time)”. “The people in Antarctica, they’re fuckin’ freezing” said an angry Geldof. “Tonight it’s Factor Ten instead of Two” sang Bono. Glorious days.

Kirsten Dunst in the Rain
Some gratuitous shots of Kirsten Dunst enjoying a little bit of rain. “Here comes the rain again.” Almost as good as the infamous Spider-Man scene… [via]

Cotworld Creative Community
5 years and 1 month ago I came across something very special… Something very secret… Something that was mine and mine only… Something so simple and so captivating that I went back nearly everyday for 4 of those years… Then suddenly it disappeared.
The place I speak of was called Cotworld and it’s where I first flexed my creative muscles, I can safely say I wouldn’t be here, blogging, if it wasn’t for those fateful forays into the world of Cotworld. So imagine my delight when a few days ago, The Cotworld Archive appeared… If you’re ever bored, or remotely curious or ever in need of inspiration, I’d suggest you give it a look…
I’ve had a wry smile on my face ever since I found it…

MSN Spaces
Scoble explains why MSN Spaces is not for him. I’ve looked at it, albeit it quickly, and it is extremely limited with it’s options. And being an MSN product, it doesn’t play well with browsers other than Internet Explorer…

The Clearout
Thanks to the people I work with, I got a new HP Pavilion desktop machine over the weekend to replace the old and decidedly underpowered machine I was using… And it’s only now I realise how much junk I had on that machine… the “My Documents” folder alone weighed in at 23.1GB, 12.9 of that being music files…
So I’ve spent the last few days clearing out the crap HP preload onto it and loading the crap I need to use. Though, I shouldn’t say anything bad about HP as my brother works for them…

The Long Weekend
The Thanksgiving Weekend is, according to Wikipedia.
A holiday celebrated in much of North America, generally observed as an expression of gratitude, usually to God. The most common view of its origin is that it was to give thanks to God for the bounty of the autumn harvest. In the United States, the holiday is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.
So we had Thanksgiving dinner in Norcross, at the home of Adam Churvis (probably the worst link in the world, but you can thank Google for it) and it was a meal to end all meals. It was a full-on family affair, with at least 18 people in attendace, though I may be wrong. As I previously mentioned, we also wtched two football games, the Colts destroying the Lions and the Cowboys beating the Bears, and ended the night playing good ol’ Texas Hold-em poker for fun… Good thing too as my stack of chips dwindled quickly.
We were having electrical issues with fuses popping every so often in the office, so Friday was a day for yard work, which meant me and Phil taking up residence in the local Home Depot looking for items while Erika and Adam do all the hard work. It was also my neice’s third birthday, so I made my monthly call home to catch up with the family going’s on.
Saturday was Erika and Adam working on installing a new circuit in the office so we dont have everything running off the one line, hence fuse popping every so often, again Phil and I were dispatched to Home Depot before the day was through. We then played pool for most of the night, peppered with the occasion drink from Erika’s book before the absolutely mind-blowing decision to go to Wal-Mart at 11pm was made… So we all jumped in the car and went to Wal-Mart, complete with drinks in hand (except Phil, he doesn’t drink, but he decides to go along with our wacky plans anyways) and wearing slippers… By the end of the night we had made close to $700 worth of purchases.
And finally on Sunday (technically today as it’s after midnight so this will get dumped into Monday’s entries) Phil and Adam finished off the new circuit in the office while Erika and I painted the Pool Room/Bar. Then came the must see TV line-up of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Desperate Housewives and finally Boston Legal, all on ABC.
Highly exciting, huh? Though, it was nice to have the time away from the desk…

Happy Thanksgiving
It was a great day, a huge meal, two football games on TV, including Peyton Manning single handedly destroying the Detroit Lions as he aims for Dan Marino’s single season touchdown pass record, and some fun poker to round the night off…
How was your Turkey Day (American readers only of course)?
