The iTunes Music Store can’t even bring it’s self to say Napster. “During the N*****r flap of 2000, Durst become one of the most outspoken advocates of online music trading; that summer Limp Bizkit embarked on a free, N*****r-sponsored tour.” I find that kinda funny and sad at the same time… Just dont ask why I was looking at the Limp Bizkit biography, ok?

The 1lb. Monster ThickBurger!
The challenge to Barry… 1lb. of meat (plus bacon, cheese and a bun)… Barry decided to trump it by making it a combo meal!
Perviously we had tried Hardee’s Monster ThickBurger, which was 2 1/3lbs. Angus Patties in a bun along with cheese and bacon… But they also have a ½lb. burger, so we asked for 2 of those in a single bun, and surprisingly they did it for us… $9 later it was on the table for Barry.
25 minutes after that it was all gone, quite a feat… We’ve calculated it to be approx. 1501 calories, so it’s pretty much a heart attack in a bun…
Crazy guy, he now wants to go for a 1½lb. “Baz-Burger”…

Another Campfire Tale
A bit late, but oh well…
Last weekend we all headed to the lake, yes the lake that 2 miles away, but our favoured campsite of last year is closed for renovations so we had to head a whopping 12 miles away… Which led to us to really rough it.
It was a long weekend, Friday through Tuesday, and it was hot, damn hot… But the water was pretty chilly, so we didn’t go in that much. It was a pretty non descript weekend, we didn’t have the boat, we played a lot of Uno and set fire to a lot of wood and pine cones. That was basically it… Oh, and the running joke when the campfire was roaring was “there is Ash everywhere… Ash Ketchum? Ash Campbell? The Band?”
Yeah, bit of a shitty recap, but here’s an obligatory panorama and an interesting Flickr set of campfire pictures.

Flickr has moved away from Flash to Ajax in order to display pictures. That explains the errors over the last few days, also means things load a bit faster now…

Dark Undertones
Is Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith an anti-Bush movie? “Revenge of the Sith’s two greatest moments tap into the uncertainty of our own political climate: the dazzling battle between Yoda and Darth Sidious inside the beautifully spiraling Senate hall evokes Democrats and Republicans scrambling for power and, during an obscenely over-the-top duel in Mustafar, Obi-Wan declares, ‘Only a Sith Lord deals in absolutes,’ after Anakin says, ‘If you’re not with me, you’re my enemy’.”

The Awesomeness is Strong With This One…
Ahhh, more Star Wars related junk…
This time it’s Kellogg’s wonderful gift you get free with select brands of cereal, a particularly AWESOME Lightsaber Spoon. There are other cool things available like an R2-D2 bowl.
I managed to bag a nice evil Sith red one first time out, now do I try and get the other two Jedi colours?

Hell’s Breaking Loose
I go away for 5 days and all hell’s breaking loose all over the place…
In no particular order:
- Apple release iTunes 4.8. With nifty video features built-in, but us Windows users are getting jipped through lack of QuickTime 7 action.
- WordPress release 1.5.1. It looked nifty, until the spam flushing plugin I used no longer worked, so back to WordPress 1.5 I go…
- Renée Zellweger marries Kenny Chesney. But will it be Mr. Renée Zellweger or Mrs. Kenny Chesney, depends where you are I guess, in Georgia it’s most likely Mrs. Kenny Chesney…
And that’s just for starters… Anyways, I had a great time away from the world over the weekend, it done me the world of good as far as recharging the batteries goes… I should have a few pictures up in the not too distant future.

To Zoom Or Not To Zoom?
There is an interesting discussion going on in Flickr about the good and bad of digital zoom in cameras. Personally, I use my 6x digital zoom whenever possible. I don’t particularly care about pixelization as I’m not anywhere near a professional photographer, it does me just fine, infact I’d say that over 50% of the images on this site are done using digital zoom…

Halo 2 Quibbles
Before I explode into all out rant mode, I’ll just fill you in on some back story… For the past 4 months, Erika and I have been playing away at Halo 2 on Xbox Live, scratching and clawing our way up through the rankings all the way into double figures, she was a 12 and I was an 11. We were just noting how, since we moved past the 10 ranking threshold, we’ve not had to put up with, shall we say, fucking idiotic players who like nothing more than to betray their own team mates and games were actually comptitive and enjoyable…
Well, that said… Bungie, the games makers, have just released a patch to help with bugs and 4 new maps and yesterday they reset the stats so cheats never prosper. So the last 4 months of hard work and determination has been for pretty much nothing. Don’t get me wrong, new maps are cool, but being lumped back in with the “fucking idiotic players who like nothing more than to betray their own team mates” again is more than I can stands…
Case in point being tonight, our first chance to play new maps, first of all our internet connection was being a pain and kicking us off at shitty times… Then we were just getting shit matchup after shit matchup, seriously, it’s like the Battle Rifle is now the weapon of choice, and I hate it… PASSIONATELY! Then came the crowning moment… During one of the games my team was getting well and truely pwned, Erika and I are usually golden when we play together but tonight we just sucked, and over the headset come the faithful words “are you guys noobs or something?”
Gah! Too many subtle changes have been made to the gameplay and now it’s sucked the enjoyment I had for it out of me… I really need this weekend away now, not just from the computers and modern technology, but from civilization it’s self!
Noob, please… Makes me want to choke a bitch, all because of a game…
