This comes via Sterogum and it’s so bad it’s good… It’s a mash up (yes, that word again) of The Arcade Fire’s “Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)” and the Black Eyed Peas “My Humps.”
The Arcade Fire vs. Black Eyed Peas – Hump My Tunnel
Really bizarre…

Time Warner is pursuing a possible sale of the Atlanta Braves and the Turner South cable network. Ideally I would like Arthur Blank to buy the Braves, it’s a slim possibility…
Blingo is a search engine with a twist. Each search on Blingo is also a chance to win a prize, it could be a free movie ticket or even a Sony PSP, or you can get a Visa Gift Card with the cash equivalent…
Who cares about not finding WMD’s in Iraq when you can now find optimism instead. Isn’t that nice to know?
As if I needed any further proof my surname is as common as humanely possible, the US Census Bureau kicks me square in the ol’ sack…
Rank Name Frequency 1 Smith 1.01% 2. Johnson .81 3. Williams .70 4. Jones .62 5. Brown .62 6. Davis .48 7. Miller .42 8. Wilson .34 9. Moore .31 10. Taylor .31
To make matters worse, Robyn has jumped the bandwagon all the way from 7 (Miller) to 1…
Thanks to Seth at Mostly Muppet for pointing out my commonicity…
Groundbreaking black US comedian Richard Pryor has died after almost 20 years with multiple sclerosis. He died at the age of 65 of a heart attack at Encino hospital near Los Angeles.
I’ve seen this iTunes Signature Maker thing bouncing around a few places today, so I figured I’d join in and see what the fuss was about…
Why?
People often ask me what music I listen to, and I find it difficult to describe my enormous music collection in just a few sentences. So I created iTSM to answer in sound a question I cannot answer in words.
iTSM selects a small number of your “favorite” tracks based on some simple selection criteria, such as the number of times you have played them or the rating you have assigned them. Then it analyzes the audio content of these files, combining a small bit of each of them to create the signature.
So after playing around with it (50 most played songs, one song per artist & album), here’s what it threw up in return…
Or download it here (1.99mb mp3, 2:10)…
For those who think it’s a bit fuzzy, here’s the playlist in order:
A bit eclectic, kinda…
6ft Jellyfish terrorise Japan. They are called echizen kurage and they sound like monsters from the trashier reaches of Japanese science fiction. They are 6ft wide and weigh 450lb (200kg), with countless poisonous tentacles, they have drifted across the void to terrorise the people of Japan. Vast armadas of the slimy horrors have cut off the country’s food supply. As soon as one is killed more appear to take its place. Echizen kurage is not an extraterrestrial invader, but a giant jellyfish that is devastating the livelihoods of fishermen in the Sea of Japan.
Last night was the monthly APWBWGTTD meeting, the first one I’ve been able to attend since, well at least September… And it was a drunken Festivus party alright with a pretty good turnout.
Of course being Festivus, we had to have an aluminium pole, which Lori provided, but it’s strength to weight ratio was sorely lacking, but it was the thought that counted. We reveled in our airing of grievances, some of which cannot be retold… The feats of strength was a sight to behold for sure but alas I had to leave “early” (around 11:15pm some hour and 15 minutes later than I had planned) as no one had wrestled Lori to the ground and pinned her for the count of 3 at that point.
All joking aside, there was a whole bunch of new faces there since my last meetup, and it was cool to see the old faces too, but next time I will stick by my predetermined time of departure, extra drinking time causes havoc to me the following morning… Bah, I’m getting too old for this… I blame Dave for dragging me into a political discussion, a British political discussion at that…
It was 25 years ago today Sgt. Pepper tought the band to play John Lennon was walking up to the door of his apartment building in New York City when a “deranged” gunman by the name of Mark Chapman opened fire and killed him…

A passenger who claimed to have a bomb on board an American Airlines plane in Miami was shot dead by a US federal officer, government officials say. The 44-year-old US citizen was shot by an air marshal when reaching into his bag after leaving the plane. Reports say no device has yet been found. Flight 924 had just arrived from Colombia, and was heading to Orlando. It is the first time since the attacks of 11 September 2001 that a US air marshal has shot at a passenger. A witness said that the man frantically ran down the aisle of the Boeing 757 and that a woman with him said he was mentally ill.
Rangers 1 – 1 Internazionale. Rangers make history as they become the first Scottish side to qualify for the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds after a 1-1 draw against Inter Milan. Of course, ESPN piss me off by showing a meaningless Chelsea vs. Liverpool game instead of this, or even the AC Milan vs. Schalke 04 or any game that meant *something*. It’s a pity they won’t show anybody but Chelsea or Manchester United.
Today came one part of the downside of marriage, or at least my marriage…
For immigration purposes I had to get a few shots before my impending medical examination to satisfy the US Government that I’m slightly cleaner than that monkey from Outbreak. Robyn casually informed me of this yesterday…
Robyn: I called and found out all of the shots you have to get
Robyn: sucks to be you :-P
Gregor Smith: dont tell me :(
Robyn: you can have the shots done at our PCP and then you take the paperwork down to the civil surgeon and get the physical
Robyn: so can I set you up an appointment with the PCP?
Gregor Smith: sure
Robyn: okee :D
Gregor Smith: what kind of shots?
Gregor Smith: gun shot? to the head?
Robyn: HIV/syphalis blood test
Robyn: TB skin test
Robyn: tetnis immunization
Robyn: measles/mumps/etc
Robyn: flu
Robyn: have you ever had chicken pox?
Gregor Smith: i dont think so
Robyn: ok, then you’ll have to get that too
So 6 shots and 2 extractions of blood later I still need to go back for part 2 of my 3 part Hepititis B injections… She forgot to tell me about those.
Talk about suck?
