Autostitch
A few months back I came across a program called Autostitch, it’s a panoramic stitching tool and for the last few months, I’ve been using it to go over as many of the old panorama images I’ve taken as possible. Mostly with great results, some not so great.
So in older posts I’ve replaced the Photoshop Photomerged imaged with the Autostitch ones.
Here’s a few comparisons:
Old (via Flickr) Turner Field Panorama
New (Autostitched) Turner Field Panorama
So overall it’s a much nicer output as you can see… Highly recommended if you’re looking for something along those lines.

Jaws Scrapbook By Bruce The Shark
A Jaws Scrapbook by Bruce The Shark. “Shaw was a hoot to work with. He was always telling me off color stories and trying to get me drunk, I kept telling him, “Dude, I’m a mechanical shark, I don’t drink!” But that didn’t keep him from pouring a bottle of Jack Daniels down my throat.” [via]

A Late Night Story About Nothing…
More and more often I’m getting asked “what’s that funny lil favicon your site has?” And now with more and more people seeing it in Firefox as well as other places (Flickr, blogs with Gravatar supported comments, MSN conversations etc) it’s time to introduce the world to Blossom in full-ish size and reveal the secret history Blossom and I actually have…
Yes, it’s Blossom of the Powerpuff Girls and it all started about 3 years ago as a little laugh that spiraled way out of control… Truth is I’m a fan of the Powerpuff Girls cartoon series (and movie), and I found a great image of Blossom on the old PPGWorld.com site and originally used it as my desktop wallpaper…
When I joined o8 – Meaningless + Shallow, I needed a little 32×32 icon for my profile and posts that would set me apart from the rest… And the above picture suited that right down to the ground, except it needed to be suitably cropped, so a 96×96 version was born.
Here is an example of how it looked (circa January/February 2003)… And basically it stuck ever since, I found a site that turns images into favicons and thus it became the favicon of Scam City version 5.1 (as it was known back in those days) and now it lives on as my globally recognised avatar… Though some question my mental stability for keeping it, I think it’s more recognised than me myself… It appears in such a different variety of places and if you see it you’ll instantly know it’s something to do with me. I still get a kick out of seeing it in people’s Bloglines public feed or in people’s contacts list in Flickr and now Haloscan supports Gravatar, so it appears there as well…
It’s me, I’m the crazy guy with Blossom as his gravatar!

Freedom For My People World Tour
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Wednesday that Iran must live up to its international obligations to halt its nuclear program or “the next steps are in the offing.” “And I think everybody understands what the ‘next steps’ mean,” Rice told reporters. It was inevitable really… It’s the 2005 stop of the Bush administrations “Freedom For My People” World Tour, 2006 is a little place located above South Korea…

Another Doocing
It’s looks like Mark Jen has been “dooced” from Google after a matter of weeks due to comments in his blog. It’s times like this I’m glad I have very understanding bosses (who usually give me obscure links to blog about). Still, sucks to be sacked over the content of a blog. [via]

The “Truth” Comes Out
The “truth” comes out, Donovan McNabb was feeling sick during the Super Bowl. I would be throwing up if I screwed up that badly too, being sick ain’t no excuse! Michael Jordan dropped 38 on Utah in the NBA finals of 98 with the flu and a temp of like 150°, stumbling to the bench after the game winning shot like he needed an ambulance…

Done With All the Fucking Around
You may have noticed a few errors popping up here, and the occasional WordPress default layout and post (and comment) from time to time, that just means I’ve been correcting 18 months of mistakes.
But mainly I’ve been having a comment moderation problem… Oh, the comments get moderated alright, but I don’t get told about them anymore, and the moderated comments have been clogging up the database for god knows how long, so I’ve been cleaning it all out, then I decided it’d be a great idea to have a fresh start… Since I was using b2 before WordPress, the MySQL tables were all, if I may be so dope, wack… So I’ve been reinstalling WP, reimporting database tables and generally spring cleaning from time to time, but it’s not perfect. I’ll wait for 1.5 proper to come out before I do the next round of cleaning up.
In the meantime, I can finally recieve pingbacks and trackbacks, most ironic given the latest development with trackback spam, but oh well. That’s what’s been going on behind the scenes, I’ve also tidied up the photo gallery a little so it’s just thumbnails on the page instead of thumbnails and descriptions…

Glory Hunter
Karl Malone is looking at one last chance of glory with the San Antonio Spurs. He’s looking for one thing and one thing only, an NBA Championship ring. Some might say he deserves one, but jumping onto the Spurs bandwagon isn’t earning one.

Introducing Tagback
Shelley Powers states her case for the abolition of Trackbacks and the introduction of Tagbacks. Personally I don’t see this idea flying at all, but what the hell do I know? You can see other points of view via the bbintroducingtagback tag.
