The Sopranos Finale

While I’d assume anyone who wanted to see The Sopranos finale has indeed already seen it, I’ll still force you to click on through to prevent any cry of spoilers…

I’ve now seen it twice, taken time to digest the whole hooplah and I’m still shocked that David Chase had the sack to pull off an ending like that, I’m still in a “WTF!” kind of mood, I was wanting a killing spree of biblical proportions, I was wanting the streets literally awash with blood. Can’t have everything I guess.

Personally I’m in the belief that Tony is dead, the blank screen is referencing back to the first episode of the second half of the 6th season (complicated?) where Bobby says something along the lines of:

You never see it coming when you die, it just happens suddenly and everything turns black.

Who knows really, very ambiguous ending leaving it open to continuation should the well ever run dry, rumours of a Sopranos movie continue unabated even though Chase has said this is the absolute end.

Ending aside I really enjoyed the episode, and I’m glad that Phil Leotardo got his and in a gruesome way too, at least he was already dead before that Explorer popped his head like a ripe tomato.

Sure there are a 1,001 loose ends, like the fate of Silvio, the Russian guy in the Pine Barrens from years ago, Thats what bugged me most I guess, they teased with little incidental things over the years and never went back to explain anything, it was what it was. It was all about business, Tony FINALLY resolving his issues. Order is restored, but I still think Tony went out like every boss before him, there’s no retirement plan or gold watch in his job.

But in the end it doesn’t matter, whether you’re a small town girl living in a lonely world or a city boy born and raised in South Detroit, Just don’t stop……………

Who am I kidding, WTF was up with the ending?
