Yes, it’s one of those “I’m so busy, I’ve no time to blog” posts… The last few weeks have transcended from “oh, I’ve just joined a new company and they’ll ease me into the job” to “oh shit! ¼ of the people working here are off, I’ve been dropped into the deep end doing jobs out with my job description.” Fun times…
That’s not stopped me dropping links and grainy camera phone pictures though, or Twittering away neither. It’s now obvious I’m moving away from regular blogging to tumblelogging meta information. So in that sense I’ve started a little blog at tumblr that’s running off feeds from here, Flickr and Twitter. Ideally I’d love to get something like that running here, or on another domain I have, be it .com or the .org, but Dreamhost have disabled “allow_url_fopen” in PHP so I’d have to cURL it, and I can’t be bothered with that.
Feeds is definitely where it’s at, everything has an xml feed now. I’ve started using the Google Personalized homepage now which is loaded up with various tabs for various things, I can pull in Gmail, traffic, weather, calendars, news, sports, blogs, basically anything I want. Again, I would love to have done this on my own, but it’s nice enough now it’s no longer a plain Google page you get… Yes, I’ve fallen for the themes Google have implemented, I’ve chosen the Teahouse theme and now my day is dictated by that little fox and his daily routine.
Though as the days have gone by, I can’t help but feel that the poor fox is lonely, poor guy, always eating lunch and dinner alone. Google should give him a little friend, they should also incorporate weather into the theme like they did with the Bus Stop theme, that would be very cool.
Anyways, we’re having a little movie night shindig tonight, should be fun, even though I’ve had enough of this week already, I’d rather just go home and wind down, not play host to other people… Gotta lighten up as the afternoon rolls on.
