Homeward Bound

Map of Great BritainFirst a bit of a backstory, for the last few months I had been chasing a job, a very nice job by all means with very nice people who waited and waited on me to get my work authorization card and social security number but after all was said and done, they decided I wasn’t the right fit for them. Now I was more than a little disapointed by this, especially after all the time and effort I had put into it, like the six hour interview last month. I had to pick myself up the next day for my driving test, which I duely passed so I was pretty proud about that, it was then Robyn came up with an idea…

Since I most likely wont have a job (sigh) in June, we should go visit my family in Scotland as Delta are introducing a direct flight next month from Atlanta to Edinburgh and as such, they were running some good deals and we should take it, even if it’s only a week…

Well, that week became 11 days as we leave Atlanta on June 16th and return on June 27th, which means we’re also going to do a little sightseeing around Scotland too, and possibly London with a day out in Paris via Eurostar. So we’re more than a little psyched about this impromptu trip, Robyn gets to meet the members of my family who couldn’t make the wedding and I’ll get to catch up on people I haven’t seen for nearly 2½ years, plus I get to show Robyn around Edinburgh and Glasgow and beyond (thanks to a bit of forward planning via Google Earth).

Of course, this all hinges on the small matter of my residency interview in 11 days time…

Don’t forget to remind me closer to the date when you’re in Londinium. :)
