As valued TiVo subscribers, we got an email from them pimiping the new Series 2 DT (dual tuner).
Ohhhh, black and shiny, always a nice combination, but as nice as the prospect of a dual tuner standalone TiVo box sounds, we’re gonna wait till the Series 3 DT HD model comes out later this year… But that said, if I didn’t have or I wasn’t fussy about HD, and they offered us the 180 hour version I’ve read about over the current 80 hour one, I’d be on it like a fly to shit! Seriously…
I mean, we have a 40 hour one, which is more like 20 hours as we record at high quality. Giving us an 80 hour (which would be more like 40 hours) AND the ability to record two shows at once really wouldn’t make much difference, if anything we’d watch more TV.
Yes, we’ll wait on the Series 3…

at least you get new TiVos … us poor plebs back in the UK get fobbed off with Sky+, SkyHD and TVDrive … inferior products all :(
I think you need to get out more………… I say less TV. If you miss it why worry about it?

But you dont need a TiVo, you have the tv recorder in the PC
I am probably going to get the Comcast version, since when you get an HDTV, you need their special box. I will miss my ble bloop be bloop ble bloop though!
Duane, that’s not 100% true…
We’re on comcast and we get HDTV without a box, it helps if your tv has a built in digital tuner I think, plus if you wait for the Series 3 to come out, you could ask comcast for a cablecard which slots into the back of the TiVo so you can still get all the channels, HD content, in demand etc but not need 2 boxes or the possible crappy comcast one. No need to lose the ble bloop be bloop ble bloop.
