If there is one guarenteed way to feel old, it’s to buy a pack of smokes…
Really, I don’t smoke, but I was buying a pack for Robyn on the way home from dinner tonight when I glanced at the “warning” sign behind the counter…
To buy cigarettes, you must be born before this day in 1988
1988… It’d be worse if I was buying them at Publix or Kroger as I would have been ID’d… I wish I was born in 1988. Soon the 90’s kids will be able to smoke legally, infact they already can in the UK but thats a different matter altogether.
It’s now been 10 years since I left high school, what a weird thought and this requires a retrospective/introspective post some other day and time.
Another way to feel old is watching the NBA All-Star weekend… Pretty much every player is younger than me, well except Shaq and Steve Nash, some are a year or two older, but still… It really hit home during the dunk contest.
Has it really been 20 years since Spud Webb beat out Dominique?
And after last year and Josh Smith busting out a ‘Nique throwback, is it fashionable to give the retro Hawks some love round All-Star time?

Actually there are plans to raise the age at which you can buy cigarettes in the UK to 18. An anti-smoking bill has been passed in Parliament that gives the government the power to do that should they want to. It’ll also ban smoking in all workplaces, including all pubs, restaurants and clubs, from next summer. Like in New York and Ireland at present.
