Man vs. Machine…

Here’s a challenge for you I found on The Copydesk… On the Glasgow Underground (subway), travelling clock-wise, the journey time between Buchanan Street and St. Enoch stations is approximately 55 seconds. Hmmm. On the surface it’s a straight downhill journey, approx. 0.3 miles (0.5 km) down the busiest shopping street in Glasgow with 2 road crossings*. Hmmm.

Here’s the challenge… Could someone get off the underground train at Buchanan Street Station, then get back on the same train when it stops at St. Enoch Station a minute later?

See for yourself.

* = I’m disputing this 2 road crossings part as it’s really 3… West George Street, St. Vincent Street and Argyle Street
