Rockstar Games Sued Over Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

It was inevitable really, especially in this culture of lawsuits that we live in nowadays, but really, this has more holes in it than a pasta drainer!

A woman upset that she bought the video game “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” for her 14-year-old grandson without knowing it contained hidden, sexually explicit scenes sued the manufacturer Wednesday on behalf of consumers nationwide.

Florence Cohen, 85, of New York, said in the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan that the game’s manufacturer, Rockstar Games, and its parent company, New York-based Take Two Interactive Software Inc., engaged in false, misleading and deceptive practices.

She sought unspecified damages on behalf of herself and all consumers nationwide, saying the company should give up its profits from the game for what amounted to false advertising, consumer deception and unfair business practices.

Let’s see…

I agree with your exibit A. I am tired of hearing about parents getting upset about a game that THEY bought for THEIR kids, and then they get all “offended” and act like they didn’t know the game had such content! It just shows bad parenting on their part. I read a report in the news paper about a mother that bought the midway arcade style baseball game called “High Heat” or something, she didn’t know it had fighting and vulgar language so she sued Midway. yet the label says that its had all that stuff. she acted like it was the only baseball game available, Yet EA’s baseball games are rated E !!! PARENTS NEED TO BE MORE INVOLVED WITH THEIR KIDS!!!! I BLAME THE PARENTS!!!!!! just ‘cuz little jimmy saw something he wasn’t supposed to doesn’t that they can ruin the game industry for adults like me who enjoy and appreciate fine game programming.!!!!
