Blue Collar TV

Last night Phil and me ventured along the 316 to Athens so we could sit in on a live recording of Blue Collar TV at The Classic Center and we finally fulfiled a 2 month long dream along the way…

Now, we found out about the series of tapings they were doing a few weeks ago and put our names down for all of them, but last night was the only one we could really get to, the show started around 7:30 but they advised you turn up around 90 minutes before hand as it’s a first come first served deal with tickets, so we turn up 2 hours early and the area surrounding the Classic Center is already pretty busy, so we get our tickets… Numbers 787 and 788 out of 800, apparently people had been waiting since 9am to get prime tickets, bah! So we were sitting way, way up in the nose bleed seats…

How high could we get?

So we spent the night sitting up and peering through the lighting rig to get as good a view as possible for the next 3 hours… All in all it was a pretty funny show, and after seeing Larry The Cable Guy (and Jeff Foxworthy) back in October, and meeting Ron White in December, it was cool to finally complete the set by seeing Bill Engvall.

Then came the conclusion of a 2 month dream, of sorts… Following meeting Ron White in December at the local Wal-Mart (of all places) we had signed copies of both dvd’s and cd’s of Blue Collar Comedy Tour and Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again, and how cool would it be if we could get all of them signed by the remaining three stars? Well, we kinda succeeded by getting Larry, Jeff and Bill to sign the dvd and cd of Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again after the taping, and we would have gotten them all to sign the dvd of Blue Collar Comedy Tour as well but Bill left the signing bit after only a few minutes, which kinda sucked, so that’s only got Jeff’s, Larry’s and Ron’s signature, which is still pretty cool all the same…

So we finally left Athens at around 11:30 in the middle of a nice storm… Storm season has come early this year judging by the last few days. Anyways, here’s another (and better) obligatory of The Classic Center.

Trust me on this, driving home through a thunder storm at midnight, when you’re tired and hungry, is not the best idea

Especially when your cell phone isn’t working and the wife is worried as she’s not heard from you since 3pm

Good night out through, especially completing the set of signatures on the Rides Again DVD and CD – I wonder how much they’d go for on eBay :D

My name is Cash Still. My birthday is June 5th. My mom said I could have a party and to decide what I want to do. And what I really, really want to do is my mom and three of my friends come to see your show. Mr. Foxworthy, could you help me out?
