Xbox Live

I’ve finally succumbed to the temptations of Xbox Live and Halo 2 and Burnout 3 in particular…

And damn, it’s insane stuff… There’s like this heirarchy of gamerdom that you can only learn the hard way… Namely kids yelling and cursing at you. If you’re good at a game, you’re branded a cheater and if you suck, which I do, then you’re ridiculed at every possible opportunity.

As I said, I’m shit at Halo 2… But I know my role in the team games, I’m the sacrificial lamb, running off and drawing fire so the good players can sneak around doing what they need to do, and thus far it’s working fairly well… I’m slowly moving up the ranking and becoming a better player as I progress.

I’m pretty decent at Burnout 3 already, but I don’t play often enough to sustain a decent ranking, I could be ranked 1,500 one day, then when I go back a few days later I’m down to 10,000… So that kinda sucks.
