Picture Perfect

One of the things I’ve always wanted was a little photo gallery section where I could dump a decent amount of pictures I’ve taken over the last few years and just let people wander around and do whatever they wanted to do… Over the years I’ve come across various filebrowsers that, although good at what they do, didn’t quite do what I wanted them to do… Until I came across Peter Dekkers EUWDPCpix photo gallery system.

Now the EUWDPC is a throwback to the EUropean Work Day Posting Crew (work avoidance since 2001) days in YayHooray and Andy Beaumont (I think, I might be wrong) started work on the original filebrowser, but Pete took over and has created what you now see under the photos section, all I had to do was mess around with the php index to suit my site and upload images, it handles the rest (especially lovin’ the dynamic thumbnails and the metadata on the pics)

I’ve still got a lot to add to it, I want to resize images down to a more managable size (dimensions and files size) before uploading more, and maybe one day I’ll actually comment each picture so you know what’s going on… Until then, you can just enjoy what’s there.

Imagine if you had access to a CMS which had a Photo Gallery built in, so you wouldn’t have had to do any work… nah, that’s too simple :D
