Independence Day

A crazy 4th of July weekend was had… Firstly was a YayHooray/humhum Atlanta area meetup on Saturday night, which was a fucking great time. We had arranged to meet in DuPree’s Tavern on Monroe Drive in Midtown at about 9, but turned into 10:30 or later. So we drank, played pool and had general hilarity til closing time at 2:30 am…

We then headed to the Hyatt hotel in Peachtree Center where Laurie, Chris and Mikhail were staying so the party could continue. It was about 3:45/4 am when me, Gary and Stephanie left to drive back to the northern suburbs, I’m hugely in their debt for taking my lame ass home over the Perimeter.

So yeah, great time, great fun and I hope to steal some pictures from the people there to document it… If any of them ever read this then we gotta do it again sometime.

Atlanta represent!

And as for today, I got home at about 4:30 am and slept on and off till 2 pm (lazy bastard I am), Phil, Erika, Adam and I went up to Lake Lanier to spend the day chilling playing uno, or swimming in the lake during a thunderstorm (highly recommended), we then watched the firework display before heading home. After going to bed and midway through writing this, Erika and Adam tried to spook me by throwing pine cones at my window, apparently to get my attention, as knocking on my door would be too easy… One of the neighbours was having a mini firework display in the front garden, or so they claimed, I think it was just them trying to scare me.
