Michael Hanscom has been doing this for that last few weeks and I thought I’d give it a shot. It’s an old meme that comes via The Republic of T.

The rules are simple: put your entire music playlist on random, and post the first ten songs your music player comes up with. I’ll try to provide links to the iTunes Music Store where possible.

I’ve done 11 as way of a bonus… (or a way to hide my stupidity)

1. “Mad World” by Gary Jules, taken off the cd “Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets.” Actually, I ripped this off the Donnie Darko DVD as the music video appears on that. Note: This links to the UK iTMS as the US iTMS doesn’t have this track on the album
2. “The Great Beyond” by R.E.M., taken off the cd “In Time – The Best of R.E.M. 1988 – 2003.” A wonderul little song that also appears on the “Man on the Moon” soundtrack.
3. “Wherever You Will Go” by The Calling, taken off the cd “Camino Palermo.”
4. “Piss Up A Rope” by Ween, taken off the cd “12 Golden Country Greats.” “On your knees you big booty bitch, start sucking.”
5. “Head Over Heels” by Tears For Fears, taken from the cd “Tears Roll Down – Greatest Hits (1982-1992).”Note: This links to the UK iTMS as the US iTMS doesn’t have this album
6. “Got” by Mos Def, taken from the cd “Black On Both Sides.”
7. “Frozen Charlotte” by Natalie Merchant, taken from the cd “Ophelia.”
8. “Born In The U.S.A.” by Bruce Springsteen, taken from the cd “The Essential Bruce Springsteen.” Not as patriotic a song as some would have you believe…
9. “Rock Your Body” by Justin Timberlake, taken from the cd “Justified.” Worthy, if only for the beatbox bit at the end.
10. “Smooth” but Santana and Rob Thomas, taken from the cd “Supernatural.” Man, this song was EVERYWHERE 5 years ago, this was the first time I’d listened to it in about 6 months…
11. “A Design For Life” by Manic Street Preachers, taken from the cd “Everything Must Go.” I was surprised the US iTMS had this to be honest…

So there we go, a bit of a strange mix, who knows what next week will throw up…
