Milestones

A few weeks ago we celebrated a year here in North Carolina, and last week I personally celebrated a year in my job. And I won’t lie, its been a looooong time since I held a job for over a year, well one that didn’t involve working in a basement. So to mark the end of that “transitional” year, I plan to make a few goals for myself that I hope to accomplish come February 10th 2009 in no particular order.

  1. Lose some weight:
Ahhh, this old chestnut, right now I’m over 2 bills, way over, far away from pushing 300 I hasten to add, but over none the less. I’m not even sure what my ideal weight is but I’d like to lose *something*. I’d also like to eat more healthy (hard considering my diet is awful) and get more exercise, this all goes hand in hand.
  2. Visit another state:
Last year I made it to Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania for the first time, this year I’d like to visit another state I haven’t been to before. Where? I don’t know but I’d like to visit *somewhere*
  3. Move house:
We’ve already spotted where we’d like to live once our renting days are over, now we just need to wait for it to be built and save up for a down payment. This is probably the big one for this year.
  4. Not buy so many material items:
I’m a gadgetphile, always have been, most likely always will be. Last year we splurged on the Wii and two iPhones, the year before we got a desktop and laptop computer and a new camera, year before that was a camera, new mobile phones and a Video iPod. This year I hope not to want as much, or want but not buy. This can also be filed as “Do More, Spend Less”
  5. Stress less:
Not stress so much over turning 30, finding grey hairs and balding. Plan more for the future as the last 5 or so years have passed by waaaay too quickly, who’s to say the next 5 wont go by just as quickly, then I’ll be 35 with no plans. Scary thought.

So there we go, five times to do in the next 365 days (give or take), can’t be too difficult can it?

Check back in a year to find out

I agree with every one of your goals. Could you let me know when you are visiting UK this year as I want to make plans

I need to lose some weight too; I seem to be gaining it more and more with each passing day. Hmpf!

Also, I can’t believe it has been a while year since you guys left ATL; it really hasn’t felt like that long!
