AKA: A Day In The Life Of…
Finally, after literally weeks of planning, our big moving day arrived, and as it coincides with my annual “a day in the life” post, I was on hand to document it…
We still had a few things to do before we could leave to get the truck…
Like taking the bed apart…
The 3 kitties had to be locked away as the commotion of 7 people would basically freak them the hell out…
Robyn’s dad came up from Milledgeville to help drive the truck up to Charlotte…
Even though we only had a one bedroom condo, we packed this 24 footer to the gills…
I’ve been feeling sick since Saturday, so while the movers were in I was dispatched on various last minute errands, like picking up lunch, 8 burgers and 8 fries…
It took the movers about 6 hours to clear the condo out, we left the sofa/bed so we’d have a place to sleep when we come back to paint…
We also hauled my car up… So I’d have to hang back from the truck to make sure it doesn’t bounce around too much
Unfortunately we hit traffic coming from 285 to 85 and got separated…
Luckily things tend to clear up after the Buford turnoff…
We stopped on the South Carolina border to use the facilities…
I was all alone in Robyn’s car, and the drive to Charlotte can be a drain at the best of times, luckily XM radio gave me a decent soundtrack…
The first sign for Charlotte outside Spartanburg…
Checking the truck and making sure it’s all in one piece…
Gaffney’s landmark, and a sign the North Carolina border is nearby…
Now we’re on the home straight….
I went on ahead (jumping from a cruising speed of 55 to somewhere around 85) to pick the keys up from a drop box outside the letting office….
Someone left the lights on… An inviting sight after a long day….
After 17 hours of constantly buzzing about, and driving through 3 states, it was time for our first night’s sleep in our new house… Alas we’d only get 6 hours as we had to get everything unloaded the next day…
Now the truck is unpacked and we’re swimming in a sea of boxes, and we have to go back and clean up our condo in Atlanta, the fun truly never ends…

Excellent………… Who did the drawing of the cat?
Robyn did, if you look closely, it’s not just a random cat she drew, but a dramatic action picture of Felix…
