Well, the football season is underway and the New England Patriots continue where they left off… Winning games… In a very, very, very close encounter, they beat the Indianapolis Colts 27-24 when a last second sack on Peyton Manning on 3rd down left reliable kicker Mike Vanderjagt with a tricky 48 yard field goal that missed by inches…

It was his first miss since 2002.

New England Patriots celebrate a touchdown

The Patriots winning streak is now at 16, within 3 games of the 1972 Miami Dolphins consecutive win record… The team they play in the game they could break the record?

Miami, of course…

We just got done watching the premeire episode the “Friends” spin-off series “Joey” and, to be honest, if it wasn’t a Friends related show, I wouldn’t see it lasting more than 6 to 10 episodes…

Yeah, it was funny at times but also a bit strained, obviously due to introducing new characters and what not, but as it’s a Friends spin-off, it’s at least guarenteed a full season. I just hope it get’s better over the time it has…

Anyways, the NFL kicks off tonight with the World Champion New England Patriots hosting the Indianapolis Colts in a repeat of last seasons AFC Championship Game. Go Pats!

After the night out at Teaspace, Robyn and I went down to her parents cabin on the shores of Lake Sinclair down in Milledgeville, about 2 hours south east of Atlanta. It was basically a relaxing weekend away, though we spent most of it watching Hurricane Frances rip through most of Florida on TV inbetween swimming in the lake and blowing the dock up with the 15 tonnes of dynamite fireworks she smuggled over the state line from Tennessee…

Tropical Storm Frances over GeorgiaSo we stayed from Saturday til Monday, when we came back we managed to stay ahead of the now downgraded Tropical Storm Frances which is still dumping rain over Georgia right now. Yesterday was a complete washout, thoroughly depressing, but Phil, Erika and I watched the “new” Kevin Smith film “Jersey Girl” which I highly recommend, but that’s because it’s a Kevin Smith film, also take time to watch the Roadside Attractions that’s included on the special features…

Franz Ferdinand win the Mercury Music Prize. Good thing too as it reinforces the fact that Glasgow is the “secret capital” of music, but will it be a good thing for them or the proverbial “kiss of death?”

Not often I get to go out into Atlanta at night, so when a few folks off Yay Hooray in the Atlanta area decided to get together, we went along for the ride… and the tea. We met up in Teaspace in Little Five Points for a few hours of tea, dessert and chit-chat.
